On the occasion of World Heart Day, Aster Volunteers UAE launched the “Aster Volunteers – Heart2Heart Cares 2024” campaign on Sunday, 29th September, at Aster Hospitals Sharjah. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Sherbaz Bichu (Chief Executive Officer - Aster Hospitals & Clinics - UAE & Oman), alongside leadership team members from various Aster Hospitals and Clinics in the UAE, with officers from the Sharjah Police in attendance. The launch saw an overwhelming response from registered volunteers across Aster Units in the UAE. Aster Volunteers encourages individuals globally to walk for their health and participate in the fitness programs from 27th September to 3rd November 2024 which would help a donation going from Aster DM Foundation towards 50 free pediatric cardiac surgeries for underprivileged children. Aster Volunteers will contribute for every 10,000 steps or equivalent calorie burning fitness activities like walking, running, or cycling daily recorded through their personal gadgets and engage with the campaign. People can register for the campaign at heart2heart.astervolunteers.com and share their daily engagement activity on timetrack.astervolunteers.com to facilitate donations. Participants can also earn 2 hours of volunteering certificates for every 10,000 steps or equivalent activity completed each day.

Being present at the Covid-19 screening camps and distributing food kits as well, Sunanda Jayakumar is undoubtedly a brave volunteer. She was able to help several people in Burdubai and learned how selflessness can go a long way.
