Mr. Sajan C.L. lives in a rented house with his wife and 2 children. Running a popular tender coconut cart at Cherai beach, he earned his livelihood catering to tourists visiting the beach.
The floods of 2018 resulted in his coconut cart being swept away. His distressed situation came to the attention of Aster volunteers. Aster DM Foundation provided his business an upgrade by offering him a cart with new features and new tools required to prepare tender coconuts.
What's more he was also provided with tender coconuts worth over 2,000 INR to get his new business going.
